A leader in the 3PL Logistics  industry as a member of the Carrier Sales team sourcing, negotiating, and securing carriers to move both cross-border & domestic freight.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a people person that can provide their expertise in managing carrier partnerships.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Negotiating rates with carriers to maximize profitability
  • Develop and constantly update a cross-border rate sheet in order to have an advantage on current market, market pricing, and market trends
  • Establish a validated diversified partner carrier network across North America specifically in dry, reefer, and specialized equipment
  • Utilize expert knowledge of Truckmate to suggest improvement changes and better user experience for day to day operations
  • Work closely with Sales team on RFP’s and customized solutions
  • Ensure deadlines and timelines are met providing the highest quality of work
  • Maintain high level of brand experience (timely response, customer education on 3PL market insight)
  • Ability to understand insurance implications and provide OS&D and claims assistance
  • Drive team to a minimum goal of 600 booked loads per month
  • Drive net new business opportunities, spearheading inside sales and support to Director and team
  • Achieve 150 scheduled freight bills per week as an operations team
  • Player/Coach: Provide specific 3PL knowledge and structured solutions to team members by teaching, and at the same time ability to listen, and learn from each other

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in 3PL business
  • Advanced knowledge of applications utilized by Logistics: TMW, Load matching software (DAT, Loadlink, ITS)
  • Expert knowledge of Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of North American geography
  • Quick thinking: ability to do quick math, multitask, make decisions and provide off the cuff solutions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills , both verbal and written in English , with French as an asset
  • Detailed working knowledge of various types of fleet equipment
  • Motivate and engage the Logistics operations team to achieve daily, weekly and monthly goals
  • Solid work ethic, time mgmt. skills inclusive of adapting to fast paced environment and a natural ambassador of Remco’s core values
  • A strong capacity to pro-actively identify opportunities.
